<UPDATED>
A few days ago, I ran into the errors shown below. User (roaming) profiles could not be synchronized with the server. Turns out it was because a file screen was configured on the server that prevented a Windows sound file inthe profile from being saved to the server. That caused the whole user profile synchronization mechanism to stop! The error messages were vague and misleading, sounding like an 'access rights' problem, when in fact it was a file screen.
Moral to the story: be very careful to test file screens before applying them to roaming profile shares--there are so many "typically blocked" file types in a profile (avi's, mp3s, pictures...) in the Application Data folder and other profile folders that it can be a mess.
I posted this blog entry a few days ago but had a small emergency that distracted me from elaborating. To anyone who read the earlier version, I apologize for the lack of detail :-)
